I would like to start by thanking all of you for your support and to put your minds at ease. Fortunately, we have been spared by the floods that have hit south east Queensland. The rising river levels peaked before reaching our door.
This is not to say we have not been indirectly affected by this event. Watching our friends and suppliers lose everything has been heart wrenching and we do hope to see those that can re-build, back up and running as soon as is possible.
We did incur a loss of power when it was cut to the West End area for safety reasons and due to this, some of our meats and fridge/freezer items where destroyed, leaving us unable to open the restaurant for a number of days. However, we count ourselves lucky that this is all we lost as our team, their houses and our business are all still safe and dry.
Tukka re-opened for dinner on Monday 17th January, please keep an eye out on our website for upcoming events such as our Pre-Australia Day Wine Dinner on Jan 25th, St. Valentine’s Dinner for 2 and various “Relief Nights” where a percentage of profits from the evening will go to victims of the flood disaster.
We hope you are all safe and dry and look forward to seeing you soon.
Bryant Wells – Owner/Head Chef, David Carroll – Restaurant Manager and the rest of the Tukka Team
