Location & Directions

You can take a 15-minute walk from South Bank down beautiful Melbourne Street or catch a cab from the city centre for about $10 into the heart of bohemian West End. You’ll have no trouble finding us, as we are conveniently located in the centre of Boundary Street (opposite the Suncorp Metway Bank and the junction with Russell Street).

Getting to Tukka is easy

From the south – Heading north on the South East Freeway towards the city, get off on the Stanley Street exit, Woolloongabba. Bear left at the end of the ramp and follow Stanley Street straight onto Vulture Street (they join after the Mater Hospital). Continue along Vulture Street until you reach Boundary Street, West End (about 1.5kn from the freeway). Turn right down Boundary Street and the restaurant will be on your left about 200m down the road, opposite the junction with Russell Street.
From the city – Heading over the Victoria Bridge heading south away from the city (the Treasury Casino is behind you), you will drive past the Cultural Centre and South Bank on Melbourne Street. Continue along Melbourne Street and it will enter West End (about 1km). There will be a traffic light at the end with a Coles and a Commonwealth Bank on your right. Go straight across the lights (Melbourne Street turns into Boundary Street at this point) and continue up Boundary Street. Continue about 200m, past the Pavilion Hotel and Jane Street, and the restaurant will be on your right, opposite the junction with Russell Street.

Parking

The restaurant does not have it’s own car park, but West End has plenty of free street parking in the evenings. The follow streets are the best.

  • O’Connell Street (parallel to Boundary Street) is the best.
  • Jane Street (runs off Boundary Street along side the restaurant) is the second choice.
  • Russell Street has some spaces (the street opposite the restaurant – leads to O’Connell Street)
  • There are limited spaces along Boundary Street.
  • Otherwise there are car parks in the area used mainly during the day that allow free parking in the evening.
